Richard was born in Chicago, Illinois, and lived the first four years of his life three blocks from Wrigley Field. He was raised in the suburbs of Chicago and regularly attended church with his mother. Despite perfect attendance at Sunday School, Richard did not hear the Gospel until he was a young adult. At 15, he was invited to a small Baptist church where he heard the Gospel and accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord.
